Breville in San Ramon
Breville coffee equipment in San Ramon.
San Ramon is our home base, so Breville repairs here are the fastest turnaround we do. We work on machines all over town, from the family kitchens off Crow Canyon Road to the corporate break rooms in Bishop Ranch, where a Dual Boiler or Oracle often runs all day for a shared team.
The problem I see most on San Ramon machines is the grinder. The shot comes out thin and sour, or the dose drifts so the same setting pours differently week to week. On an Oracle or Oracle Touch the built-in burr grinder wears, packs with fines, or slips its calibration. That throws the whole shot off before the pump and boiler ever get a chance.
The $150 deposit includes pickup, bench diagnosis, and return and is not credited toward repair. Extra bench time is $150 per hour. Diagnostics can take up to a week; most repairs run 3–4 weeks. That is exactly why we recommend preventive maintenance: a maintained machine does not sit in a repair queue for a month.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Thin, bitter shots from a worn grinder on the Oracle. When an Oracle starts pulling sour, thin shots at a grind that used to work, the burrs are worn or clogged with fines and the dose is drifting. We clean and inspect the burr set, reset the grind calibration, and replace the burrs when they no longer hold an edge. That brings the dose back to steady.
- Descale light stuck on after a cycle. San Ramon water leaves scale in the boiler and the flow sensor. If the descale warning stays on after you run a cycle, the sensor is often reading scale that the cycle could not reach. We open the machine, clear those parts by hand, and confirm the flow so the light clears and stays clear.
- Weak pressure on a Dual Boiler. A Dual Boiler that used to pull nine bars and now pushes a fast, pale shot usually has a tired pump or an OPV letting go early. We read the pressure at the group and check the valve before I call the pump. Many times the valve or a scale blockage is the real cause, not the pump itself.
