Breville in San Bruno
Breville coffee equipment in San Bruno.
San Bruno is mostly 1940s through 1960s houses, built up around the same years SFO grew into a real airport next door. Kitchens from that era were not wired for a machine that pulls close to 1,800 watts at full heat, and the failure I run into most is a Dual Boiler that trips the breaker or resets mid-brew on an older circuit. Before I touch the machine, I check what circuit it is running on and how much else shares that same breaker.
We service every Breville espresso model, including the Barista series, Bambino, Oracle, Oracle Touch, and Dual Boiler (BES920). We pick up the machine for bench diagnosis and return it when service is complete.
The $150 deposit includes pickup, bench diagnosis, and return and is not credited toward repair. Extra bench time is $150 per hour. Diagnostics can take up to a week; most repairs run 3–4 weeks. That is exactly why we recommend preventive maintenance: a maintained machine does not sit in a repair queue for a month.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Breaker trips or machine resets mid-brew. A Dual Boiler draws real current at full heat, and older San Bruno wiring was not built with that load in mind. We check the circuit and what else is sharing it, and where the machine itself is at fault, we test the heating element and control board for a short or a fault that is pulling extra current.
- Slow flow from years of hard water. Older plumbing carries more scale into the machine over time, and a Breville that pours slow or trips a descale warning that will not clear usually has buildup a normal cycle cannot reach anymore. We open the boiler and lines and clear it by hand.
- Steam thermostat fails after years of service. On a machine that has been running as long as the house wiring around it, the steam-side thermostat is often original too, and it fails from age as much as anything else. We test the heat circuit and replace the thermostat so steam pressure comes back.
