What breaks. What we fix.
La Marzocco Repair & Service Across the Bay Area
La Marzocco machines are the backbone of a lot of serious coffee programs around here. The Linea, the GB5, the Strada, the KB90 behind a high-volume bar. They’re built to run for years, and they do, but a machine pulling 400 shots a day takes a beating. When one goes down mid-service, you lose money by the hour. That’s where we come in.
Bay Area Coffee Service repairs and maintains La Marzocco equipment for cafes, restaurants, offices, roasters, and homes across the Bay Area, including San Francisco. We include pickup, bench diagnosis, and return, seven days a week from 7AM to 7PM.
Not every La Marzocco we see is behind a bar. The Linea Mini and GS3 are home machines we accept, too. Same pickup and bench process either way, with no need to lug a machine across the bridge.
An honest note on our La Marzocco standing
We want to be straight about this. We service La Marzocco machines, we know them well, and we keep common parts moving. We are not factory-trained on La Marzocco yet. That training is on our calendar for August 2026. Until we’ve actually sat through it and earned the credential, we’re not going to claim it. What we can tell you today: we’ve worked on plenty of these machines, we diagnose them properly, and we don’t guess. If a job genuinely needs a factory-certified hand, we’ll say so.
What tends to break on La Marzocco equipment
These are dual-boiler and (on the Strada and Linea PB) saturated-group machines, so most of what fails is plumbing, electronics, and the things that see heat and pressure all day.
- Group head and brew problems. Worn group gaskets that leak around the portafilter, blocked or scaled groups, saturated-group temperature drift, channeling traced back to a tired dispersion screen or grouphead seal.
- Steam and hot water faults. Steam valves that won’t seat, leaking steam wands, weak steam pressure, hot-water tap dribbles. On machines with the joystick steam levers, the lever assembly itself wears.
- Boiler and heating issues. Failed heating elements, faulty pressure stats and safety thermostats, scale buildup choking the coffee boiler, water that never gets to temp or runs too hot.
- Pump and pressure. Rotary pump failure, pressure that drifts off the 9-bar target, noisy pumps, OPV problems. On the Strada, the paddle/pressure-profiling group needs its own attention.
- Water and flow. Solenoid valves stuck open or closed, flow meters that miscount and throw off volumetric dosing, gicleur restrictors clogged with scale.
- Electronics and control. Failed temperature controllers, the on-board control board (and on connected machines, the display/PID interface), buttons that stop registering, machines that won’t fire up at all.
- Scale, everywhere. Most “my machine is acting weird” calls in this area come back to hard water and skipped descaling. We sort the symptom and the cause.
What we service
Repair, diagnosis, preventive maintenance, gasket and seal replacement, valve and solenoid work, element and thermostat swaps, pump service, water-treatment recommendations, and getting a machine that’s been sitting back into spec. We carry common wear parts and order model-specific parts when a job calls for them.
How service works
The pickup, bench diagnosis, and return deposit is $175 for a home Linea Mini or GS3 and $250–550 for a commercial La Marzocco. The deposit is not credited toward repair. Extra bench time is $175 per hour. Diagnostics can take up to a week; most repairs run 3–4 weeks. You get an actual diagnosis and a clear price before repair starts. Call (925) 999-4095 or email [email protected]. We’ve been doing commercial equipment work since 2021, we’re licensed (CSLB #1136642), EPA 608 certified, and BBB A+. Our crew runs a 4.9 rating across 600+ reviews under ADRIUM Service Solutions, the same owner and the same techs behind this service line.

La Marzocco questions, answered.
-
My Linea has weak pressure on one group. Can you fix it?
Yes. Single-group problems are usually a clogged gicleur, a worn group gasket, or a scale-restricted line. We pick the machine up and test the complete pressure circuit on the bench. -
Do you rebuild La Marzocco groups and valves?
Yes. Group rebuilds, solenoid valves, pumps, boiler elements, and pressurestat work on Linea, GB5, Strada, and KB90 are handled on the bench. -
Do you work on the Linea Mini and GS3 at home?
Yes. We pick up Linea Mini and GS3 home machines, diagnose them on the bench, and return them after service. -
How long does La Marzocco repair take?
Diagnostics can take up to a week; most repairs run 3–4 weeks.
