In the Linea Mini Operating Manual V2.0 (October 2019), a red light that stays on for three seconds and off for one means the machine is at temperature but disconnected from Wi-Fi. A one-second on, one-second off red pattern means heating. Count the timing before treating every flashing red light as a heater problem.
La Marzocco’s indicator chart distinguishes these states:
- Red, one second on and one second off: heating is underway.
- Red, three seconds on and one second off: operating temperature reached; Wi-Fi disconnected.
- Red continuously lit: operating temperature reached; Wi-Fi connected.
- Red, three seconds off and one second on, with blue off: standby.
- Blue, one second on and one second off: low water or an absent reservoir.
- Blue continuously lit: water is present in the reservoir.
Notice the reversal between the two slow red patterns. Three seconds lit is not the same indication as three seconds dark. A video long enough to show several repetitions is more useful than a single photograph of a lit lamp.
When the pattern does not explain the symptom
Check the model label against the October 2019 manual before using this chart. A later Mini revision, the Micra or the commercial Linea PB needs its own instructions.
A blue warning reports the reservoir state; it cannot identify a failed pump. The red ready-temperature pattern can coexist with disconnected Wi-Fi. Tell the technician what the coffee or steam actually does as well as what the lamps show.
Request Linea Mini bench diagnosis with the model label and a video of several light cycles. Mention whether the machine uses its reservoir or a water connection. La Marzocco service information covers the collection and diagnostic terms.
