La Marzocco in San Carlos
La Marzocco coffee equipment in San Carlos.
Laurel Street carries a real restaurant row, and a lot of those kitchens run a La Marzocco Linea PB or GB5 behind the counter through breakfast and lunch. On the industrial east side, roasters and small food businesses lean on the same equipment for a different kind of volume, longer runs instead of a lunch rush.
We include pickup in San Carlos, bench diagnosis, and return. Diagnostics can take up to a week; most repairs run 3–4 weeks. That is exactly why we recommend preventive maintenance: a maintained machine does not sit in a repair queue for a month.
I also get La Marzocco calls from home kitchens in San Carlos. The Linea Mini is built and sold as a home machine, and when someone has put one in seriously, I run it through the same diagnostic I'd use on a cafe's GB5, not a shortened version.
Common repairs we do
What we close on the truck.
- Solenoid valve wear from high-cycle use. A restaurant row bar cycles the group solenoid hundreds of times a day. When a shot starts pulling wrong or a valve won't fully close, I test and replace the solenoid instead of guessing at it.
- Steam wand ball valve rebuild. Heavy daily steaming wears the ball valve until it sticks or drips. I rebuild the valve and reseat the seal so the wand shuts off clean.
- Gicleur and flow restrictor cleaning. Mineral buildup clogs the gicleur and slows the shot down even when the pressure gauge looks fine. I pull it, clean it, and check the flow against spec before I call it done.
Honest repair timing
A repair queue is easier to avoid than to rush.
