What we do. What we fix.

The grinder decides the cup before the machine ever touches it

You can have a perfect espresso machine and still pull bad shots if the grinder’s off. Worn burrs make a wide, uneven grind that channels and tastes flat. A drifting adjustment turns a dialed-in recipe into a moving target. A dosing fault costs you beans every single cup, which adds up fast at volume. Grinders get less attention than the espresso machine and break just as often.

We repair and service commercial coffee and espresso grinders for cafes, roasters, restaurants, and offices across the Tri-Valley and East Bay.

What we cover

  • Espresso grinders (on-demand and doser)
  • Batch and bulk shop grinders
  • Grinders built into bean-to-cup and super-automatic machines
  • Burr replacement and alignment
  • Dose and timing calibration
  • Motor, capacitor, and switch repair
  • Adjustment collars and stepless mechanisms
  • Hopper, chute, and anti-static issues

Symptoms we see all the time

Shots taste flat or sour and won’t dial in. Burrs are worn past their life. Fresh burrs bring back a clean, even grind and the espresso comes back with it.

Dose is inconsistent cup to cup. Timer drifting, a worn dosing mechanism, or static throwing grounds where they shouldn’t go.

Grinder is slow or bogs down. Tired motor, a failing start capacitor, or grounds packed into the chute.

Won’t start, or hums and quits. Switch, capacitor, or motor. We test which before replacing anything.

Grind keeps changing on its own. Adjustment collar slipping or worn. Common on busy grinders that get bumped all day.

Loud, rattling, or metal-on-metal. Burr chips, debris, or a rock in the beans. Stop using it and call us before it does real damage.

When to replace burrs

Burrs are a wear part. Espresso burrs at high volume typically run a few hundred to a thousand-plus pounds before the edges dull enough to hurt the cup. If your shots have slowly gotten worse and no machine adjustment fixes it, the burrs are usually the answer. We’ll measure the wear and tell you straight whether it’s time, not just sell you a set.

How a visit goes

Give us the make and model and what the grinder’s doing. On site we run the diagnostic, $75, waived when you have us do the repair. Burrs and common parts we carry and finish same visit. We calibrate the dose and grind before we leave, so you’re back to your recipe, not left to re-dial it yourself.

Brands we service

Mazzer, Mahlkonig, Anfim, Nuova Simonelli, Fiorenzato, Compak, Bunn, and the grinders inside Franke and other bean-to-cup machines. As a Franke Coffee Systems certified technician on the A-Line super-automatics, we handle their integrated grinders to factory spec. Parts for Astoria, CMA, and Wega grinders come through our RCW distributor partner.

We’re independent. If a burr swap and a cleanup will save your grinder, that’s what we’ll do.
