What we do. What we fix.

Water is most of your coffee, and it’s wrecking your machine

Coffee is around 98% water. So the water you brew with shapes the cup as much as the beans do. It also decides how long your equipment lasts. Bay Area tap water carries enough mineral content to scale a boiler steadily, and scale is the single most common reason espresso and coffee machines fail early. The right filtration protects the machine and makes the coffee taste better at the same time.

We repair and service water filtration systems for commercial coffee equipment in cafes, restaurants, offices, roasters, and other commercial facilities across the Tri-Valley and East Bay.

Why the right filter matters

There isn’t one filter that’s correct everywhere. Too little treatment and scale builds up. Too much, or the wrong type, and you strip the minerals that give coffee body and flavor, plus overly soft water can corrode boilers and throw off autofill probes. The goal is balanced water in a specific range, not just “filtered.”

We match the system to your actual water and your machine, instead of bolting on whatever’s on the shelf.

What we handle

  • Test your incoming water hardness and chemistry
  • Recommend the right filter or treatment for your equipment
  • Carbon filtration for chlorine, taste, and odor
  • Scale control, softening, and blended systems
  • Reverse osmosis where the water calls for it
  • Filter housings, heads, and plumbing
  • Filter change schedules so you don’t run them past their life
  • Adjusting treatment for specialty espresso targets if you’re a serious bar

Signs your water is the problem

Scale flaking into cups or visible in the tank. Treatment is failing or overdue.

Coffee tastes off across the board. Chlorine, high mineral, or a spent carbon filter.

Recurring boiler and element failures. Classic untreated hard water. You can keep replacing parts or you can fix the water.

Autofill or pressure faults on a newer machine. Sometimes water that’s too soft, not too hard. We check both directions.

How we set it up

We start with a water test and explain what the machine needs. If the coffee machine itself needs bench diagnosis, pickup and return deposits start at $150 and are not credited toward repair. We quote filtration repair after assessment and set a filter-change schedule based on volume. We do not sell coffee-equipment installation.

We can fold filter changes into a maintenance plan so it’s handled and you don’t have to track it.

Brands we work with

We assess and repair common commercial filtration lines, including Everpure, Pentair, 3M, and BWT, and explain how the cartridge should match the water and equipment. We service water systems on every machine brand we repair, including Franke, where we’re certified on the A-Line super-automatics.

We’re independent, so the system we recommend is the one your water needs, not the one with the best margin for us.

Honest repair timing

A repair queue is easier to avoid than to rush.

We pick up the machine, diagnose it on the bench, and return it. Pickup and return are included, and you get the repair quote after diagnosis.

Diagnostics can take up to a week; most repairs run 3–4 weeks. That is exactly why we recommend preventive maintenance. A maintained machine does not sit in a repair queue for a month.

  • Pickup and return included
  • Diagnostics: up to one week
  • Most repairs: 3–4 weeks

What do customers ask about Commercial Coffee Water Filtration System Repair & Treatment?

  • Do you repair water filtration systems?
Yes. We repair filtration on commercial coffee gear: leaking heads and housings, spent or channeled cartridges, failed scale-control units, and RO systems that stopped making pressure. We can explain what treatment the equipment needs, but we do not sell coffee-equipment installation.
  • Does my machine really need filtration?
On Bay Area water, yes. The tap water here carries enough mineral content to scale a boiler steadily, and scale is the single most common reason espresso and coffee machines fail early. The right filtration protects the machine and improves the cup at the same time.
  • Can water be too soft?
Yes. Strip too much mineral and you lose body and flavor in the cup, and overly soft water can corrode boilers and throw off autofill probes. The goal is balanced water in a specific range, not just "filtered", so we check both directions.
  • How do you identify the right treatment?
We test incoming water hardness and chemistry, then explain what the machine needs: carbon for chlorine and taste, scale control or softening where hardness calls for it, and reverse osmosis where the water demands it.
  • How often do filters need changing?
It depends on the cartridge and your volume. We set a change schedule per site so filters do not run past their life, because a spent filter protects nothing while looking exactly like a fresh one.
