La Cimbali error messages: M26 displays and Elective status

Readable M26 display messages and Elective BDS indicators from their handbooks, with clear limits for missing code tables and damaged source text.

By 4 min read

La Cimbali’s M26 and Elective manuals describe different kinds of messages. The M26 section below covers text shown by DT versions with a display. The Elective is a grinder-dispenser, and its BDS indicators describe operating states. Match the model before using either table. A G50 grinder that runs but dispenses nothing has its own guide.

Page numbers count from the first page of each PDF. Scroll wide tables sideways on a small screen.

M26 DT display messages

Message or codeManual meaningNext stepPDF page
Service neededThis message is displayed when the machine requires the periodic maintenance intervention.Call a technician.75
SoftenerThis message is displayed when the softener resins need to be regenerated.Call a technician.75
Energy saving modeThis message is displayed when the machine is in ECONOMY mode.Press a dispensing button to leave this mode.75

A maintenance reminder is a reason to arrange service. Temporarily hiding it does not perform the maintenance. For a softener reminder, use the instructions supplied with that softener or have a technician handle it. The cited M26 row identifies resin regeneration; it does not identify a failed machine part.

Limits of the M26 table

The same page contains other entries, including a warm-up message. Several cells are damaged in the text extract, and the warm-up condition is worded inconsistently. Those entries are omitted here. The M200 manual’s extracted English message table is also unreadable in places, so no M200 meanings are borrowed from the M26.

If the display shows a number rather than one of these phrases, send a photo of the screen and the machine’s identification plate with your service request.

Elective BDS status colours

BDS statusManual meaningNext stepPDF page
GREENsystem on stand-byStatus indication; no repair step specified.43
REDgrinder/dispenser lockedCall a technician.43

These colours refer to the BDS symbol, not every coloured icon on the Elective display. The handbook’s PDF page 43 also distinguishes its Bluetooth symbol and other warning icons. A colour on a different symbol needs that symbol identified first.

Elective grind adjustment will not open

The same Elective Use and Installation edition, PDF page 44 (printed page 10 EN), says manual grind adjustment must first be enabled by technical staff. It is unavailable when the user menu is disabled or when Bluetooth grinding control is enabled. Have the operating setup checked before assuming a locked adjustment is a mechanical failure.

The separate message table on PDF page 58 relies on icons that are missing from the text extraction. No icon-to-fault mapping or numeric code is supplied here. Don’t remove covers or reach into the grinder to investigate a display warning.

For independent La Cimbali service, include the model and the complete message. If the equipment is under its manufacturer’s warranty, contact the manufacturer’s service channel first.

FAQ

Common questions.

Does this list decode every La Cimbali error number?
No. These editions provide the specific text and status entries shown here. A number or model absent from these tables needs its own manual checked by a technician.
Does an Elective adjustment lock prove the grinder is broken?
No. The Elective manual also describes restrictions on manual adjustment when the user menu is disabled or Bluetooth grinding control is enabled.
