There are beans in the hopper, yet the Legacy+ asks you to refill it. On this model, an “empty or locked” message can mean the brewing module detected no ground coffee in its chamber. The visible bean level alone does not explain what stopped the feed.
This reference comes from the Eversys Legacy+ User Manual, version 1.0, dated 5 December 2025. It is separate from the Cameo error reference. Match both the Legacy+ name and the code prefix before using the entries below.
Missing hopper or no coffee reaching the chamber?
PDF page 44 identifies E-000 as hopper 1 missing during a running process and E-001 as the equivalent for hopper 2. PDF page 46 lists S-002 and S-003 as the corresponding hopper-missing stop messages. Check that the hopper is correctly seated using the normal operator procedure; never hold a detection switch closed.
On that same page, S-010 points to hopper 2 being empty or locked, while S-011 points to hopper 1. S-012 says the hopper is empty or locked without selecting one in its leading message. The explanation is no coffee powder detected in the brewing chamber. Although the stop-message table says “unlock,” the filling instructions on PDF page 15 require the hopper to be open and locked in place. An unlocked hopper is closed to bean flow. After cleaning, check that the indicated hopper is back in its normal open, locked position, then refill it if needed. If it is already filled and correctly fitted, stop guessing at the bean level and arrange diagnosis.
Keep the hopper number in your service note. Swapping 1 and 2 can send the investigation to the wrong grinder.
A blocked grinder and a failed unblocking attempt
W-068 identifies blocked grinder 1; W-069 identifies blocked grinder 2. On PDF pages 52–53, the screen instruction is to close the bean hopper, refit its lid and press Continue for automatic unblocking. This closed position is specific to the unblocking step, unlike the open position required for normal filling and grinding. Keep hands and tools out while it runs.
On PDF page 53, W-080 means grinder 1 could not be unblocked automatically; W-081 means the same for grinder 2. The manual then offers a manual-unblocking procedure. For a persistent blockage, our recommendation is to stop and have the grinder inspected. We do not advise reaching into the grinding chamber or repeatedly starting it from an online guide.
The same page identifies W-084 and W-085 as low bean level in hoppers 1 and 2 respectively, based on their level-detection light barriers. Those are refill warnings; a persistent grinder blockage needs a separate inspection.
E-021 on PDF page 44 is a service stop: the machine detected a grinder motor turning continuously and cut power to protect against overheating. The manual directs the operator to contact service. Do not try to work around that shutdown.
Book with the full message
Photograph the screen before dismissing it and include the model plate when you request Eversys service. Tell us which hopper was involved and whether the warning followed filling or cleaning. The message helps us choose the checks; it does not establish a replacement part or a repair total.
Our Eversys repair service is independent. Commercial espresso diagnosis uses a $200–$450 deposit depending on the model. The deposit includes pickup, bench diagnosis and return delivery; it is not credited toward repair. We confirm the applicable amount when booking.
